Aubrey showed up with a compression sleeve on her knee and explained that she tore her ACL before Christmas. Even with a leg injury, Aubrey still managed to look cooler than I do totally uninjured (well, if you don’t count the injury to my self-esteem after looking at Aubrey Plaza).
Not only is her hair looking fabulous lately, but she had a red suit on and was walking not with crutches but with a flashy cane. Obviously Ellen couldn’t pass up the opportunity to give Aubrey a bedazzled pimp cup to go with the look. It even has her name on it (not spelled phonetically, unfortunately). If only someone had been around to make me look like a badass that time I broke my arm in college. Until I got my cast off it was all unbrushed hair and ratty T-shirts and trying to awkwardly eat my lunch with the fork in my left hand. Where were you when I needed you, Ellen? I thought you were all about helping people in need and making people’s lives brighter! You could have given me a sling make of leather and cashmere. You’re probably wondering how Aubrey injured herself. The answer is that she was playing basketball. She usually plays on a team called the Pistol Shrimps, but on the day she hurt herself she was actually playing on a different team in blonde curly wig to disguise herself.
