We offer lighting for soccer, football, baseball, hockey, basketball, tennis, lacrosse and more. Although each sport may have its own specific issues when it comes to proper lighting, there are several consistent variables in designing sports lighting. The right amount of light required on the playing surface differs greatly depending on the type of sport in question. In general, fast action sports with a small playing object (tennis ball) or long viewing distance will require high lighting levels.
A slower speed, larger playing object (football) or closer viewing distance, requires lower lighting levels. Glare control is a major variable in the design of an optimal luminaire. SpecGrade LED can build your fixture utilizing one of a number of different standard glare shields, or we can even customize one for your application. We can even lightly frost the lens to minimize light loss. To minimize darker playing areas SpecGrade LED sports lights are engineered to have excellent beam uniformity. Available in numerous beam spreads and wattages, both symmetrical and asymmetrical, they are designed to ensure the playing area will have the proper overlapping beams void of ‘hot spots’.
