Malamutes are a dogs that love people.   Different than the “husky” the malamute is not as driven they love you, and will make a great family pet, and a fantastic companion.   Be careful because the malamute love is very addicting.  Our first malamute Kyra changed our lives, and now we spend most of our time devoted to the breed. Koda has produced some of the most sought after Malamutes in the world.   His son Klondike is just one example of the Giant lines that stand out so well.   He was one of the most amazing Giant Red Alaskan Malamutes we have ever seen.  

We lost Koda this past summer and he will be missed!  His legacy is alive today in many of the puppies we have born here at KingFishers!  Klondike has some big PAWS to fill!  Mighty Koda you will be missed! The Alaskan Malamute, one of the oldest Arctic sled dogs, is a powerful and substantially built dog with a deep chest and strong, well-muscled body. The Malamute stands well over the pads, and this stance gives the appearance of much activity and a proud carriage, with head erect and eyes alert showing interest and curiosity. The head is broad. Ears are triangular and stand up when alerted. The muzzle is bulky, only slight diminishing in width from root to nose. The muzzle is not pointed or long, yet not stubby. The coat is thick with a coarse guard coat of sufficient length to protect a woolly undercoat.   Face markings are a distinguishing feature. These consist of a cap over the head, the face either all white or marked with a bar and / or mask. The tail is well furred, carried over the back, and has the appearance of a waving plume.

We all hear the stories of puppy mills and the poor souls of dogs that are subjected to such conditions - Farley is one of those poor souls. Farley is a survivor though - not a victim.... Betty Bean is an absolute sweetheart! She is about a year old, spayed, black lab. She is not manners trained but she isn't pushy or domineering. She gets along really well with all other dogs and is just having a complete blast at her foster.... Brynn is a sweet little bundle of puppy joy! She is playful and loving and has the cutest little prancing walk we have ever seen! She is a dancer and a wrestler and a runner and a snugglebug!... Well the Olympics may be over but these puppies are here and looking for their forever homes!! Their mom is a wire haired greyhound and dad was a lab, so these pups have great bursts of energy but like to cuddle too!... Our Chevy is most definitely not "Like a Rock" and he is always moving (hence the fuzzy pics!!). Chevy is a 5 year old, husky cross, neutered male sled dog who has already gotten the thumbs up from the vet after his tune up, sorry ... we mean checkup!...

Milo is a fabulous 5 month old Chihuahua cross. Mum was a tiny Chihuahua and although we don’t know who Dad was, we know he must have been a bigger dog!! Milo is almost housebroken and is crate trained in the car. He lets you know when he has to go outside but you have to be quick!! Archie is beyond all levels of cute that one typically sees. This young neutered boy is a beagle/spaniel mix... We aren't sure if that makes him a Beaniel or a Spangle - but we are sure he will melt your heart!... Well grab some athletic, Velcro closing sandals and welcome mister tall white socks - Fred! Fred is an absolute sweetheart of a dog. Despite him being an 8lb, neutered chihuahua cross he knows he is a dog and prefers to be treated, respected & loved as such.... Meet our gorgeous Ashe. Ashe is an active but older dog. He has proven quite curious and playful, even more so on his own than with other dogs. He has gotten along well with the other dogs and all the people - but he has also shown a particular love of toys and Kongs!...

Say hello to our super duper Cooper! He is such a trooper, not a total party pooper! He is a tall, big boy - neutered and about 2 years old. He is two dogs in one big package - can wrestle and play with all the dogs one minute and then be at your feet for cuddles and love the next.... This delightful 8 month old, 80 pound boy is looking for his forever family. Beau loves other dogs, small and large. Right now his best friend is a 10 pound Brussels Griffon and they play really well together.... The Electric Unicorn (she even has a custom designed Electric Unicorn tattoo in her ear!) This 17 month old sweetie is looking for a new forever home. She has been spending her days at a Doggie Daycare and has done GREAT with all the doggies, but she prefers to be an only dog in her home.... Still waiting for my perfect family to come along! I'm really a pretty confidant girl, I'm just scared of humans until I learn to trust them.... Calli has been in a foster home learning about houses and retired/domestic dog life and is doing great!

She has really started to really figure out the perks of retired life; comfy dog beds, pet and snuggles for the asking, dog treats for just looking cute and of course new adventures!... Rondy is one of 5 sled dog sisters that came into care looking for retirement homes. Rondy is the most confident and outgoing of the girls. She could go in to a home as an only dog or with another dog. Now there are going to be people who think an 7 year old dog is old.... Kusko has come down from Fort St. James with her 4 sisters looking for a nice retirement home in Victoria. Kusko is waiting for a patient loving person that leads a quiet life to help her adjust to her new life in the big city.... This sweet 10 year old Chihuahua is looking for a home where she can be the Queen Bee! She has struggled with weight issues in the past (who hasn't?) and needs a home where her new family will make sure she can get down to her true size!! Zeus may not actually rule the Gods of Olympus - but he very well may rule your heart when you meet him!
